Single Family Home - Martin Guarneri & Jose Rabasedas Architects

Interesting series of volumes on the main facade combined with the u-glass, although I think the house is reduced to just that. The concept behind the project was based on creating a building that suits the existing environment.

The pool and vegetation may remain outside of the proposed life of the ground floor. Given the dimensions of the terrain and the orientation of the same could have generated a much friendlier and integrated into the environment existence.

This is one house which follows the foot step of modernism. We believe that architecture begins with efficient construction.

The fundamental concept of this single family residence project was based on creating a building that suits the existing environment, controlling the visual and natural lighting, creating a strong architectural image that resolves the relationship with the environment of implementation.

All project decisions are affirmed in the concept, which defines a homogeneous material outside through walls, glazed tiles and compact enclosures creating a bright atmosphere interior.

There’s a correlation between each houses interior and exterior. Virtually, the exterior often resembles the house interior. The interaction of the two sometimes cannot be separated. Here the home resolved through the same vertical glazed openings that provide light and ventilation to the interior areas, in addition to aggressive control of western sunshine.

Modular House - A-cero architecture Studio

Directed by Joaquin Torres, the first luxury modular houses that located in Madrid, Spain, was finished by A-cero architecture Studio, introducing a modular architecture product based on the principles of the Industrialized Construction.

Vivienda Modular, A-cero, arquitectura, casas

It applies the same ‘production line’ standardisation procedures to the construction, modularity, technology, quality control and time spaces that are applied to other many fields of human activity. The Modular House benefits from the speed and cost advantages of assembly line production.

Producing in-factory and assembling on-plot means that within just 3 months a house design can be enjoyed after signing. More specialized labour can increase productivity and quality as well as reducing the costs.

A-cero plan to roll out the offering of bespoke modular houses offering decoration as equipping as an extra service, in the same way you would receive a boat. Example prices are divulged as 69,000€ for an 82 sq m house as standard, or fully decorated and equipped for 85,000€. Joaquin Torres A-cero architecture Studio also advised that this system need not be exclusive for residential construction – schools, offices, retirement homes or student residences could also benefit from this modular buildings technique.

The project is unique from the typical prefabricated house in offering luxury but distinct from Daniel Libeskind’s recently revealed luxurious prefab (Libeskind Villa, the German-made Future House) in offering luxury at an affordable price, not simply for the economic elite.

House in Santa Teresa - SPBR Arquitetos

Santa Teresa is a historical neighborhood that offers some great views of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The house is located in one of the highest points of Santa Teresa’s hill.

From the north side of the house it is possible to see the old downtown; from the south side, a more panoramic view of Pão de Açucar and the Guanabara Bay. The site starts at 100 m above sea level at the cable car street and finishes at 125m at a breathtaking viewpoint of Pão de Açucar.

The project takes into consideration the two pre-existent levels of the pronounced topography: 120 m and 125 m over sea level.

At the lower level, there is a linear block that leads to the bedrooms and the office. Their main glass facade opens up to the enjoying garden on the east side. These two prismatic and linear volumes are opened on the east and west sides but are completely closed on the north and south sides, living the ground under them empty.

The living room is located over the higher plateau providing a view of downtown on the north side and of the Guanabara Bay and Pão de Açucar on the south. This volume is closed on the east and west sides to avoid sun heat and to emphasize the magnificent views on the other sides.

It leaves the level below completely open. Thus, there is a bare level between bedrooms and living room which is filled by the kitchen, where, according to the traditional Brazilian culture, most people will spend their spare time.
