This exposes activities that would normally be the hidden in the attics of Dutch houses. By means of big windows inside and outside merges, making the entrance porch, which replaces the traditional front garden, the communicative heart of the building, as well as an informal meeting spot with the whole neighbourhood. Through its cantilever it allows for the entrance area of the house.<br /><br />The black coloured timber façade refers directly to the historical black wooden houses in the region. In order to minimize costs, details were reduced to a bare minimum and only one window format was used. Sliding shutters on the outside allow for privacy and overheating in the summer. Pitch House - Iñaqui Carnicero

The house is located in a small neighbourhood on the west boundaries of Madrid in a place called “los Peñascales”, that mean something as well as great stones. The plot is characterized to have a great slope oriented to the south and have two great granite rocks partially covered by moss. The structure of the house at a functional level as formal is explained perfectly in section. The ceiling of the underground level generates the white floor made of calcareus stone that constitutes the noble plane where the daily life is developed. The first floor is been thought like a closed box made of concrete that floats over the glass of the ground floor. The independence of levels is only interrupted by two double heights that put in relation both spaces described previously. Double House - Langarita Navarro Arquitectos

Moving their home to the outer limits of a small town in the province of Zaragoza is the wish of a newly married couple about to retire. Embodied in their decision lies the conviction that it is possible to both undergo a radical change and still enjoy the comforts of their previous life. The land is part of an olive grove, annexed to the perimeter of the village. The house is positioned on the north side along the length of the developable limit in order to gain a small garden and a vegetable patch to the south and have privacy from the street. The inside of the house is extended on the ground floor to resolve the programme’s requirements. The central nucleus which gives access to the upper floors separates two areas, of non-referential character, serves as a garage and party area.
